Creating equitable shifts in structures based on action oriented strategies.

It was such a pleasure (was still totally nervous) presenting during Zapproved’s Lunch and Learn series. If you missed it or would like to refresh your memory you are in luck! Follow the link for the YouTube video

Thank you!

Oppression is real. Racism is real. Anti-Blackness is real. Anti-Indigeneity is real.

All of the work EIM does is based on these facts as our foundation.

Carrie Fuentes, creator

I am a first generation Xicana born in Los Angeles to two indigenous parents from Mexico. We moved to Portland when I was 5 years old and I was raised in SE Portland.

The work that I am most excited about is working with folks who are ready to move. These are folks that have done their initial work building their equity praxis and are ready to put what they’ve read into action. Be it organizations, non-profits, for-profit or your embroidery circle; we all are making waves that spread out into community.

I use direct communication, humor and ask a lot of questions when working with my clients. The clients who gain the most through out our partnership are those who are ready to listen to the folks who are most impacted within their organization, looking forward to learning about the hidden ways white supremacy shows up, understand the importance of making mistakes and how best to recover from those lessons.

When I’m not working I enjoy looking for pretty rocks, shopping for makeup, hanging out in bookstores and watching the same movies over and over again.

EIM is based out of the territories of the Clackama (Clackamas), Stl’pulmsh (Cowlitz) and the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde.
